A Canadian curler has noted how her team’s skipper approaches games of blackjack with the same focus as when playing the winter sport.

Speaking to the Calgary Herald, Amy Nixon – part of Team Alberta which is currently taking part in the 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Charlottetown – reveals that skip Shannon Kleibrink is extremely analytical about curling and will spend hours looking at statistics before a game.

And it appears that Kleibrink takes the same approach when playing blackjack.

“To me, it reminds me of the way she plays blackjack. It’s more like she’s just a gamesplayer. She’s interested in every aspect of it,” Nixon states.

Meanwhile, those looking to play online blackjack may want to consider the recent advice of John Brokopp. Writing for the Casino City Times, he stated that blackjack players should avoid spending too much time making side bets and instead concentrate on the main game.

And money that is diverted away from the main table through such betting is likely to cut into gamers’ profits or heighten their losses, he reported.
