Sports betting fans may want to consider placing a wager on the Chicago Blackhawks beating the Boston Bruins tonight (March 29th).

NHL.com staff writer Brian Compton notes that the Blackhawks picked up a “much-needed” win against the Detroit Red Wings yesterday, with the Stanley Cup champions sure to be keen to build-up some momentum as they attempt to qualify for the playoffs.

Coach Joel Quenneville states the victory was especially important following his team’s 2-1 defeat against the Anaheim Ducks at the weekend.

“It was a huge win coming off a very disappointing loss (against Anaheim) the other night. I liked the energy we had from the outset. It was a playoff game for us,” he claims.

Tonight is the first time the teams have played each other this season, with the Blackhawks beating the Bruins 5-2 in their previous meeting in January 2010.

And online betting enthusiasts could be interested to note that Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews has registered one goal and three assists in his last three appearances.

But while the Bruins have already cemented their position in this season’s Eastern Conference playoffs, coach Claude Julien states it is important his team avoids becoming too comfortable and that they remain “firing on all cylinders”.

The Blackhawks currently sit in eighth place in the Western Conference, with the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Tampa Bay Lightning their next two opponents after tonight’s game.
