Free Soccer Picks:Copa America 2011 Paraguay vs. Venezuela
Sending Brazil home, holding them through the 90 minutes and winning them by penalty shots knowing that they have Julio Cesar as the goalkeeper is a not an easy task. Justo Villar became the player of the match replying the numerous occasions Neymar, Robinho and Pato had. For an instance Brazil’s goal was felt since they created better chances throughout the 120 minutes, but at the end they missed four penalties out of five, so ironic. On the other hand, Venezuela reached the semi-finals for the first time in their soccer history, after beaten Chile in a game well handled by Venezuela’s offense, taking advantage of the chances they had to score.
The second goal came by a free-kick which the goalkeeper failed to hold, and Cichero was there to rebound and put it in. Something curious about Paraguay is that they get into the semi-finals by tying every game, remember that they got to the quarter-finals tying with Chile, with Ecuador and even with Venezuela. The 3 – 3 score that Paraguay and Venezuela gave us was one of the best games the Copa America has had so far; due to the intensity, the enthusiasm and the passion. What’s more attractive than a soccer game loaded with goals? Six goals is enough to send everybody home with a large smile in their face. What is happening with Venezuela is great news, that hopefully will make them get excited and impressive when it’s about South America’s World Cup qualifier. I really doubt about Paraguay, don’t see them as the perfect candidate to win the title or even to get to the final. They have exceeded themselves in a style mostly made by the defense; forgetting to attack and standing too shy on the midfield. I lean toward Venezuela to get to the final. Cheers!
