Oklahoma City Thunder – Memphis Grizzlies Game Six
The series between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Memphis Grizzlies is now heading to Memphis for game number six of the series, which will be played Friday the 13th at 9pm eastern time and will be nationally televised on ESPN for everyone to be able to tune in and see if there will be a game seven. In Game five it was the Oklahoma City Thunder that simply dominated the entire game and managed to whoop up on the Grizzlies with a final score of 99 to 72, the series now is currently lead by the Thunder 3-2.
One has come to expect enormous games by Kevin Durant, whom is without a doubt the best player that the Thunder has to offer and he is usually their scoring machine in every game he never seems to slow down and he is the entire package he can dunk, shoot and take shots from behind the arc and is not afraid to draw contact when heading to the basket.
It was expected of Durant to have a big game five in order for the Thunder to take the lead in the series, but that was not the case this time around, he managed to score 19 points and have seven rebounds and the other normal scorer for the Thunder Russell Westbrook only put up 11 points. So how did they manage to beat the Memphis Grizzlies and by such large margin, well its simple it was an team effort and every single player from the Thunder that played even if was just a few minutes scored, the whole bench scored for the team when it mattered the most and that allowed the team to rotate its players without this leading to fatigue. This game was won by the bench coming onto the court and not only helping the starters rest, but putting up impressive numbers across the board.
Take for example Daequan Cook he scored 18 points for the bench and shot an impressive four from five from the three point range. Then there was Eric Maynor who only scored a single point but he other the other had had one steal and a whooping nine assists. There is no doubt that game six is going to be a battle to see who will go face the Dallas Mavericks, but as of now I will have to say that I would have to say that the Thunder is the better looking team of the two.
