Well coming of the third Grand Slam of the year that has been taking up the last two weeks for both the men`s circuit and the women`s circuit it is finally time to get back to regular events that only last one week instead of two and they will be playing around the globe again with fields which are so small compared to a Grand Slam that one might even hesitate to call it an tournament at all.

One of the WTA tournaments this week is the Collector Swedish Open which is presented by Sony Ericsson in only its third year as an event, it will carry a field of thirty-two singles players and twenty-eight doubles teams that will be in Bastad, Sweden competing on outdoor clay courts. The prize money is not the highest, but it stands at $220,000 last year it was Aravanne Rezai from France that won the event by beating Gisela Dulko in three sets with scores of 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, but don`t feel bad for Gisela Dulko she has won the doubles event the two years the event has taken place with Flavia Pennetta.

This week we will have the joy of watching the Number one player of the World the Danish sensation Caroline Wozniacki who finished runner up here in 2009 when she lost to Maria Jose Martinez from Spain in two straight sets. Wozniacki will look to try and win her first tournament in her Neighbor country of Sweden she has currently so far racked up a total of seventeen single titles and she would love nothing more, but to win she will have to tackle the two players who have won the event the first two years it was played, with the field being small players don’t have as much time to get into their zones and there will be plenty of good competition here in Sweden the two top Swedish players Johanna Larsson and Sofia Arvidsson will try and make the title stay on home soil and the crowds will be at their loudest when the Scandinavians take the court.
