Back in-form Texasto sweep the A\’s

The Texans are desperatly trying to keep the hot Angels from joining them at the top of the AL Western division but the good news is they are playing just as well themselves. With just a game between them Texas will want to go into the mid-season All-Star break with a win and a guaranteed first place in the division. They are on a win streak of 6 straight and that means a run of 3 wins over tonights opponents Oakland. Last night’s game was a close 1 run game but the other two were pretty straightforward wins for the home team. It’s hard to put a reason behind it but the A’s have been probably this seasons biggest disappointments in baseball. They were strongly fancied to go well with some good young pitchers but after a steady start things have gone downhill fast. They are 11 games behind Texas and with little chance of turning this into a winning season. They have lost 12 of their 17 and the season has quickly turned into one to forget. The pitchers have similar type records but this is simply a match between a team in form against a team not, a team with a great home record against a team with just 16 road wins all season. Texas are simply playing the better ball at the moment and should be backed to win again.
