Hotline update: The holiday weekend and beyond

Hoping everyone has a safe, happy and relaxing Memorial Day weekend. It would have been a tough few days had the world ended on the 21st.

I headed out of town Wednesday morning with my daughter and, 40 hours later, we have reached our destination on the east coast after tornado damage to the plane and a cancelled flight and the subsequent re-booking, delays, missed connections, stranded at LAX and then a cross-country flight today Blah, blah, blah. Weve all been through it.

(If youre wondering why there hasnt been a Hotline response to the news on USCs appeal being denied, thats why. The WCC basketball item that appeared this morning was written before I left town.)

The vacation is planned through next week. The Hotline will be slow but not silent, although I wont always be in position to react to news as weve seen in the past 24 hours.

I dont expect news, but thats often when it breaks.

The Pac-12 Network details are at least a few weeks from being announced, and WAC expansion news wont hit until mid-June.

Certainly, it should be quieter than it was this time last year, when the realignment news broke.

Once Im back from vacation, well continue to track the Pac-12 TV situation and WAC expansion and Ive got a few NBA Draft and Pac-12 football items in mind.

And before we know it, football training camp will be within view. (Most schools start in the Aug. 5-7 range.)

Oh, and one last thing regarding the comment boards:

Any urls that our filter doesnt recognize must be manually approved. I usually do that throughout the day but may not get to it regularly while Im gone. Thanks in advance for your patience.
